Don't Forget the Popcorn!

Favorite Movie
My favorite movie is Now You See Me.  I have always loved magic, and having that awestruck moment when the magician does the impossible without an explanation.  In Now You See Me, the magic is impossible, creative, and humorous.  There are tricks left unexplained, leaving you wondering how they possibly could have done it.  The only explanation is magic.

Least Favorite Type of Movie
The type of movie that I do not generally enjoy is horror movies.  I do not like being scared, so I would not want to sit myself through a two-hour horror movie that would keep me up at night.  I also scare extremely easily, so horror movies and I do not mix well.  Besides horror movies, I would be open to watching most any other type of movie.

Watching Movies
I usually watch movies in my living room downstairs on our old, worn-out grey couch.  By the time the movie has started, I would have microwaved multiple bags of popcorn for my family, and brought down the buttery snacks to the basement.  After setting down the popcorn, I would turn off the lamps in the room (to imitate a movie theatre, of course).  Then I would take my seat in the corner of the couch, promptly cover myself with a heavy blanket, and grab some popcorn before I have to go make another bag.  My family and I tend to watch movies together like this on special occasions (such as a holiday), or if we had all been wanting to see a specific movie.  If someone in my family has a movie on television that piques the interest of another family member, they will also sit down and watch the movie.  There is no fluff, no food, and no getting cozy underneath blankets.  This is just watching a movie together on television (most likely one that has been seen countless times), and making comments aloud as the movie plays.  This is my favorite way to watch a movie.

Lights…Camera…Me?
If my life story was made into a movie, I would have a younger Lily Collins play me.  In the movie about my life, I would make sure that there were a few specific scenes in the movie.  One specific scene that I would put in the movie would be the first day that I picked up a tennis racket.  I had only wanted to play tennis, because my friend, Annie, was playing.  Annie ended up not even being in my class.  As a shy nine year-old, I wanted my friend to be there beside me when I made my first steps onto the tennis court; I did not want to walk out there alone.  At the end of the class, I did not want to leave.  The coach, Amanda, had been amazing, and extremely kind.  If anything, I wanted to go just to see Coach Amanda.  Another scene that I would make sure made it into the story of my life would be the first day of freshman year.  This was a traumatizing day for me, especially it being the first day of high school.  I was overwhelmed with the length of the classes, and the enormous size of the school.  Besides being overwhelmed, I had trouble finding my classes, and had to keep referencing a map of the school.  While doing this, I got hit by a door swinging outwards twice, and completely fell to the ground (papers scattering in the congested hallway).  I was mortified at the time, and simply muttered apologies as I made my way to class.  The final scene that I would make sure got into the story of my life would be when I first got my dog, Rusty.  When my family decided to first get Rusty, I was terrified of dogs.  Even though Rusty was a nine-week old puppy, I would not get close to him.  Over time, I learned to love Rusty, and he showed me that dogs really are not all that scary.

  1. I'm so sorry you had such a rough first day here at KHS! I can see the scene you've described playing out on the screen...I would imagine many in the audience could relate to the overwhelming feelings.
