There is a Time

There is a time for white clouds to graze across the empty sky
And a time for night when the charcoal troubled sky
Distances itself from Tennessee slate blue
There is a time for the world to turn into a silver light slate
When the early morning clouds are a diving dolphin gray
And there is a time for tribal smokestone clouds to cause a dreary mist upon the Earth
Leaving time for wishful thinking and wondrous thought

  1. I love that last line that captures the magical, dreamy quality of that time between night and day when "wishful thinking and wondrous thought" seem most possible.

  2. You really used your color names well here. I could see those colors even though I couldn't tell you where they fit in a color spectrum. The last lines were great.
    Have a lovely night,
